1st month in the house

1st month in the house

So we have been in the house for almost a month now and we are on our way remolding.... we have taken down the scary wallpaper, sheet rocked the top part of the brick on the fireplace and did some landscaping.... there is just so much we want to do but we need to wait and not get to carried away... We had someone come out last week to give us a bid on how much it will cost to get our master bedroom and bathroom textured, where the wall paper came down, the area above the fireplace and to cover the pine ceiling in the living room. I just purchased new bedding for our room and started designing the colors, tile, and furniture we want. We have decided that the first room that we are going to go after is the master bed/bath!

San Francisco Girls weekend

San Francisco Girls weekend

The Weekend before my 24th birthday I decided to invite myself and Shannon to Stevee’s place for the weekend! I got to SF on Friday night around 8:00, got ready and went out with Stevee and some of her friends. The next day we went to a cycle class, then went for a walk at the marina. Stevee lives with in a block of the marina, it was wonderful to take a walk with her and enjoy the sunshine. As we were enjoying the views and sunshine we received a phone call from Shannon saying that she was almost there, so we rushed back to the apartment and started to get ready. Shannon showed up around 12:00 and we were all hungry. We had lunch at this great café and had frozen yogurt later in the day (if you know the three of us we could never say “no” to frozen yogurt). We decided that it would just be nice to walk around and enjoy the sun since it was such a beautiful weekend. Of course we had to fit some shopping in, ha ha ha… the three of us got matching white sweatshirts, I know it is dorky but we all loved it and once the white is not so white we are going to tye dye them! We ended our day by having sushi, which was wonderful. I love trying new sushi places! When we got back to Stevee’s she showed us the views from her rooftop while enjoying a drink. We took a cab and headed to a club, I thought I was going to die in the cab, the driver was a mad man. The club had an outdoor bar that was on the rooftop, there were some amazing views! The next morning we had crepes and went for another walk along the marina before heading on our own ways.

I thought SF was so interesting, I love how everything is within walking distance, and it made me Miss Chico. I used to love walking to class or going for a run in Bidwell Park. If I could change one thing about the area I live in now, it would be not having to drive so much, I feel like everything is ½ hour away, it reminds me of Humboldt in that way.

My favorites!

All I can say is WOW

Night out!

I arrive at our rental house two hours later to a big surprise, over the weekend Jasper had moved us into our new house! I could not believe it, I was so excited, not only were we already moved in to our first home but I didn’t have to move anything! I was so dead from my weekend festivities and then organizing all day Sunday, I had a hard time going to work on Monday.

WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!

Here are some pictures of our new House! We felt like this was never going to happen because in our price range they are all short sales (which can take around 3 months to hear anything) or bank owned. So when a house that we liked that was originally out of our price range went down about 15 thousand we jumped on it. We made an offer last monday morning and found out we got the house Tuesday. I had seen part of the house with our agent but Jasper had never seen the house... ha ha ha... so on Wednesday Jasper finally got to see the house we bought! It need's love but that's ok with us, overall it has a great floor plan. It is around 1600 sq ft, has 3 bedroom 2 bath, an open kitchen/living area and a nice size laundry room. It is on .22 acre lot which is very good here and has a nice RV access which was a must for Jasper. As you can see from the picture's we will have our hands full. I can't wait to go after those bathrooms and the master bedroom, that wall paper is scary...ha ha ha... We move in the beginning of April and it is killing us, we want to move in now. We went to Lowes yesterday and became very inspired and ready to work!

Hi guys, I know I have been horrible about this whole blog thing but I do have some new info. Jasper and I decided to rent a house and we are happy to be getting out of the apartment! It is a three bedroom but more like 2 ½ (the third room is tiny). It has 2 bathrooms and a backyard. We are only planning on renting for about 8 months… We are starting the processes of buying a house at the beginning of the year.

I started at Umpqua bank a few months ago and so far it has been good, I am learning a lot and I enjoy going to work and I love to dress up for work. Jasper got his offer at his job so he is no longer an engineer’s assistant but a manufacturing engineer! I am very proud of him and he is doing really good and also enjoying his job. Other then that nothing really new, we have been slowly getting to know that area and finding things to do on the weekend.

We had our first guest a few weeks ago and had a BBQ with my family, Cain’s, Eisner’s and some of their Sacramento friends. We also had Thanksgiving at our house with Jaspers family. I would say overall we enjoy living in Citrus Heights but we do miss home every now and then. Next time I will be in McKinleyville will be for Christmas!

Here are some pics. From out living room / kitchen..

Graduation

I Graduated from CSU Chico about 2 weeks ago,  I received a BA in Interior Design and a minor in Studio Art.  Jasper and I graduated on separate days so our families had to go to both, it became redundant because they were the same speeches.  It was about 90 degrees during graduation, I was dying during the ceremony and even took my gown off since I was sitting there for 3 hours.  Overall it was a great weekend and after Jaspers Graduation we headed to the lake for a few days.

Jasper and I will be moving to Fair Oaks This week I am so excited but yet scared at the same time.

Update..

Hi, I know it has been forever but my life has been very busy.  I have not slept very much in the last couple of months, I have been trying to get everything done.  I have been working as much as possible to save up some money to survive on after graduation.  This week I am working 35 hours and on top of that I have 20 hours of class that I have to attend.   I also have a project due in every class but the good thing is that I don't have finals.   I am graduating from college in a little over a week, which is very exciting!!  After graduation we have to pack up and clean our house.  On June 5th, Jasper and I are moving to Fair Oaks which is located near Sacramento.

Jasper got a job with Composite Engineering, Inc., here is their web page if you want to check it out, it is pretty cool.
http://www.compositeeng.com.  I have just recently started looking for a job, I wanted to find out what area we were going to live in before I started to apply for jobs.

We are living in a one bedroom apartment for 4 months to check out the area and make sure we like the city life.  We ended up going to sac last week and checked out a few places and we found the perfect fit!!! (we were also approved on our own, no co-signer!!!)  Here is the web page for apartment.  http://www.parkplacefairoaks.com/html/amenities.html   We are going to be right next to the gym which will be great because I have been slacking on working out lately.
The town of Fair Oaks is so very cute!!! It has a small town feel and the American River is less then a mile away!!!
Here is an article I found about the town

There is even a little putting green on it
